Georgia Soldier Killed In Action

25 year old SPC Benjamin Blake (Trey) Bartlett, Jr., was killed in action Sunday, July 15, 2007, in Mosul in a rocket propelled grenade attack. He was a fire support specialist assigned to the Second Battalion, Seventh Cavalry Regiment, Fourth Brigade Combat Team of the First Cavalry Division. He received during his time in service the National Defense Metal, Iraq Campaign Metal, Global War on Terror Medal, The Army Service Ribbon, and the Overseas Service Ribbon. Bartlett was honored posthumously with the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, Combat and Action Badge, and His Weapons Expert Badge.

Bartlett joined the Army in Atlanta in November 2005 and was sent to Iraq in November 2006.

He received a full military funeral service at the Woodland Baptist Church, Woodland, Georgia, and was buried there. He was the son of the late Ben and Ann Bartlett of Woodland, Georgia.

July 4th, 2007 Parade

"A nation rose with pride
to answer freedom's call
Some gave a year or two
So many gave their all"

"The Sounds of Liberty" with Conductor Terry Lowery and the
Carroll Symphony Orchestra presented the program at the
Grisham Stadium, at 8:30 P. M. on July 4, 2007.

They continue up Alabama Street toward Adamson Square.
