CCVMP January 2009 Meeting

The Veterans Park Committee met Monday, January 26, 2009, for the monthly meeting. President Norris Garrett presided, Chaplain Bill Cowart offered the invocation, and Hugh Lee Young led in the Pledge of Allegiance. The minutes and treasurer’s reports were presented followed by committee reports. The Memorial Day program is being scheduled for Saturday, May 23rd and contacts are being made for a speaker and person to dedicate the Pavilion. Next month’s meeting will be on February 23rd, at 6:30 p.m. with dinner being served by Horizon Bay. Merrill Gardens is now Horizon Bay and is located at 530 Northside Drive, Carrollton.

THE PAVILION IS UP...

The pavilion is up and ready for visitors. Violette Denney just couldn't wait to try out one of the benches. Watch for more information and pictures later, but we are so excited we just had to share a picture. Like most improvements when one thing is finished, you see other things that are needed. We will be concentrating on walkways and landscaping around this area.

ENGRAVING CAUGHT UP AT THE PARK...

The work crews have been working to get all the engraving caught up. All the backlog engraving at the Memorial Park has been done, including the Bricks, Platinum Sponsors, Silver Sponsors, Bronze Sponsors on the Black Granite Contributor Wall of Honor.
