MORE LANDSCAPING ADDED AT VETERANS PARK

Apparently our President (Norris Garrett) did a good job explaining what we needed to be added around the Women's Memorial Wall and the "Jones Bench" and Jimmy Carnes, Pro Lawn Services, did an outstanding piece of art work selecting plants and bushes to fill the new beds and along the walkways. I have posted the above pictures so you can enjoy our progress! Thanks guys for a job well done!

VETERANS PARK RECEIVES BEAUTIFICATION AWARD

Robie York (left), chair of the Chamber Environmental Projects Committee, presents the special Silver Award to representatives of the Carroll County Veterans Memorial Park, Larry Jennings (center), and Will Smith. This beautification award is especially meaningful since it was a long time coming... the landscaping at the park was a huge challenge and a certain amount of the development had to be completed before it could even be started, since heavy equipment is required to install the walls and other features. We appreciate all the help received from many groups and individuals, which made this award possible. The appearance of the Park is important because it is our Symbol of Appreciation to our Veterans and active duty troops. It was good to have the Award sign posted in the park during the Memorial Day Ceremony. A picture of the sign and the plaque are shown below.
