March 24, 2008 CCVMP Committee Meeting

Sandra Vierling, a landscape architect, received recognition for the many hours she devoted to designing the landscaping and marking the locations at the park. The appreciation plaque was presented to her by President Norris Garrett.
Norris Garrett presented Sherrie D'Hollosy an appreciation plaque for her service and dedication to the landscaping of the veterans park. Sherrie helped to raise funds and recruited many others to assist in the development of the landscaping.

There were 23 members present for the regular business meeting and President Norris Garrett presided following the pledge of allegiance and prayer. He recognized the two members for outstanding service and dedication with a brief summary of their activities.

FOUNTAIN CEMENT SHELL COMPLETED!

Pat Burns from the Smyrna Museum, Smyrna, Georgia, visited the
Veterans Park and Norris Garrett gave her the "Grand Tour,"
explaining the various Walls of Honor.
The cement shell for the fountain has been completed.
We will have to wait for it to dry before the next step.

PARK FOUNTAIN GROUND BREAKING

This picture was made by Norris Garrett on February 29, 2008 as the ground was being broken for the fountain at the Veterans Memorial Park. When it is finished there will be walkways around it and they will be connected to the existing walks through the Walls of Honor.
