CARROLL COUNTY PUBLIC SAFETY DAY - SEPTEMBER 14, 2018 - RECOGNITION AND MEMORIAL SERVICE




 Terry Lowry and the Wind Ensemble provided music including Prelude and Postlude Music.
Sheriff Terry Langley welcomed everyone and gave the opening remarks.
 Carroll County Commission Chairman Marty Smith prayed the Memorial Prayer.
Award presentations.
National Anthem by Deputy Chief Ned Watson from UWG Police Department.
Award Recipients were seated together.
 Park President Don Levans with the plaques, certificates and medals presented today.


 James Stevens played Amazing Grace on the Bag Pipes.
 Memorial names were read and the striking of the bell by Cpl. Chris Thompson.
Groundbreaking for the Memorial.
Sandra Vierling is the Landscaping Architect and help with all the designs and landscaping in the Park.

UWG STUDENTS VOLUNTEER AT THE CARROLL COUNTY VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK

Students and staff from the University Of West Georgia ( UWG)  participated in a clean up day at the Carroll County Veterans Memorial Park in Carrollton on September 7th. The students picked weeds from the flower beds, raked and bagged tree trimmings, and pruned as necessary. Their efforts are part of the continuing assistance provided to the Veterans Park as a portion of the UWG Community Service programs.


SEPTEMBER MEETING CANCELED AT THE CARROLL COUNTY VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK.

The Elected Officers of the Association have reviewed the current operation and business of the Association and voted to cancel the meeting scheduled for Monday, September 24. ---- (Both the President and Vice President will be out of state)

This action is in complete compliance with the By Laws of the Association should it be determined by the Executive Committee that there is insufficient business or that there is reasonable cause to postpone or cancel any monthly meeting, then the Secretary will ensure that the membership is notified as soon as possible, but no later than seven (7) days prior"

Larry Vierling's full Obituary was in Thursday's Times-Georgian His Celebration of Life will be conducted on Sunday September 23rd at 2:30 from First Christian Church in Carrollton at 306 College Street.

As if we did not have enough going on today (Friday Sept. 7) THE MARBLE IS BEING DELIVERED BETWEEN 10:00 AND 11:00 TODAY!!!! I will arrange for the County to bring over a front end loader to assist Sammy in getting it off the truck and positioned waiting for installation.
