Requested grant received from Georgia Master Gardener Association

On August 21, 2007, Jack Driskell visited the Carroll County Veterans Memorial Park to deliver the grant check from the Georgia Master Gardener Association. The grant was requested to provide soil, plants and flowers that will be needed around the "FOUNTAIN" when it is installed. Plans have been made to landscape/hardscape the vacant area next to the Veterans Memorial Park. The fountain area was selected first because it will connect to the existing walkways and slope down and around the fountain. We are in the process of raising funds ($40,800 to be exact) to construct the fountain. The UWG Arboretum plans to celebrate Arbor Day 2008 by planting 15 trees as part of the landscaping and they plan for others to join in this celebration. It will definitely be an environmental improvement and enhance the park. Pictured left to right Jack Driskell and Violette Denney.
