We are extremely proud of our Sheriff’s Department and their continued support of the Veteran's Park. Sheriff Terry Langley presented the Carroll
County Veterans Memorial Park a check for $5,000. Pictured from the left are Wayne Driver,
Langley, Don Levans, and Bill Maddox. There are at least two major projects needing funds at the present - building six more Walls of Honor and purchasing the bronze Alphabetical Index Directory for Walls of Honor 21-24 to be installed on the big polished black granite stone to the left as you enter the Park from the parking lot. The original 24 Walls of Honor (1,152 Veterans with their service record) are full and have already been installed - ready for viewing. The Alphabetical Index Directories for Walls of Honor 1-20 are just inside the Park with 1-12 on the left and 13-16 and 17-20 on the right. There is a list of the names and Wall Numbers for the last four walls on the Park History blogspot http://CCVMPhistory.blogspot.com.
Jenny Liebowitz, Public Relations Director, welcomed about 50 members of the Veterans Memorial Park Committee with a delicious dinner and warm smile.
James Morris (center) heads the kitchen crew who prepared the wonderful food. Pictured with Morris are Timika Boykin (left) and Anita Clark, who are on the staff, and assisted with serving.
