On May 25, 2013, 10 A.M., the Carroll County Veterans
Memorial Park Committee has invited the American Legion Department of Georgia
POW/MIA Honors Team to present their outstanding Ceremony designed to honor
those who were Killed- In-Action, Missing- In-Action, or have died since
serving. This is an opportunity to
experience a very special and meaningful program. The Team will be escorted to the site by over
50 Legion Riders arriving on motor cycles.
The program appropriately honors the Flag, POWs, MIAs, as well as the
families who suffered because of their sacrifices.
Singing the National Anthem and several patriotic songs will
be the renowned soloist who sang the National Anthem at this year’s American
Legion National Convention. The program
has been expanded to include the tolling of the Park Bell in the Tower as the names of
recently Killed-In-Action from Georgia are read and Post 143 Rifle Team will
fire a salute.
Please don’t miss this special opportunity to see and
participate in this remarkable program – bring your family and friends – plan
to stay long enough to tour the park and locate the memorial plaques of your
family members and friends who served our great Country.
We live in the land of the free because of the brave –
Remember our Veterans and Troops!
