The ceremony will be May 17, 2014 (Armed Forces Day), at
the Carroll County Veterans Memorial Park. The time for flag collection will be from 10 A.M. until 3 P.M. and the Flag Retirement Service will start at 3 P.M.
It will be a very detailed military ceremony with each step being
explained - beginning with the raising of the U.S. flag. It will then be
lowered while a bugle plays. Four people
will hold the corners flat, slanting toward the crowd. The chaplain will read about the 13 folds
while it is actually being folded. It
will then be unfolded and the red and white stripes will be cut out
individually with scissors. Each stripe
will be carried in the arms of a messenger to the fire pit until all stripes
are burned. The blue field of stars is
left intact and burned last. Only one flag will be burned during the ceremony and it will
be a symbol for all the flags being retired.
A private event will be held to burn the rest of the flags collected.
The flag deposit box is located at the CCVMP and flags
to be retired can be deposited there anytime.
In case of rain, the ceremony will be held on Flag Day
(June 14th). Watch for more
details later!

The wedding coordinator was awesome and made sure everything was done right. All the servers and bartenders in this place were extremely attentive.
