Highlights of biographical information for Speaker Margaret Weitzel:
Native Carrolltonian, attended Carrollton city schools and West Ga. College,
Enlisted in Marine Corps in 1985,
Served during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm 1990/1991,
Commissioned as an officer in 1994,
Various roles have been as Supply and Logistics Officer, Battalion Operations Officer, Executive Officer and Commanding Officer,
Deployed to Al Anbar Province, Iraq from January 2008 until February 2009,
Now she is assigned as the Reserve Training and Education Command Liaison Officer, in Quantico, VA.
She is currently working on her doctorate degree in psychology at the UWG.
Margaret is the daughter of Dr. Mark and Mrs. Grace Miller and she has two children: Victoria (13) and Dawson (9).
SPECIAL REQUEST: The Carroll County Veterans Memorial Park supports the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program - Please bring a new, unwrapped toy to the Veterans Day Ceremony at the park and support the underprivileged youth of our community. THANK YOU!
